FoodProcessApp.jpgRulon® and Meldin® Materials for Food Processing

In food processing equipment, it is essential that all materials that come in direct contact with food are thoroughly tested and deemed safe for use. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations are recognized as the world standard to ensure that consumers are protected when preparing, cooking, serving, and consuming food.

Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics has a unique product, Rulon® 641, which features FDA compliance and USP Class VI certification. With three additional Rulon® grades with FDA compliancy – Rulon 123, 1337, and 1439 - we offer the most advanced PTFE compounds available to the food industry today. Applications include bearings and components which are in direct contact with food. Due to their dimensional stability and chemical compatibility, parts fabricated from Rulon materials can also be used in submersible appliances and equipment. These specialty Rulon grades further feature no stick-slip properties, low wear and noise control, combined with excellent temperature and chemical resistance.
